About

Project Management Techniques and Tools (Promantt) was established in 2003 and is based predominantly in Canberra. Promantt specialises in project management training, methodology and consultancy services for the government and private sectors.

Scott Sutherland, the Director of Promantt, has been training and mentoring staff and planning projects for state and federal government departments and the private sector for the past 21 years. During this time, Scott’s standard approach has been the driving force behind 6 National and 8 State level Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM), Project of the Year Awards. The Promantt Methodology has also been utilised by many other high profile projects – all of those projects have delivered outstanding outcomes.

In 2004 Scott partnered an ACT Government department in a submission for the AIPM Project of the Year Awards. Subsequently that organisation was awarded the “AIPM Change Management Project of the Year for 2004”. He also partnered some other ACT Government Departments to win the “AIPM Community Benefit Project of the Year for 2004”. Both of these project managers and their teams were trained and mentored by Scott, he supervised the planning stages and provided support through the monitoring and control and finalisation of their projects.

In 2007 Scott partnered with a team from ACT Health to win the same two awards (Change Management and Community Benefit) at ACT level and then went on to the national awards to win the Australian Institute of Project Managements “Organisational Change Management Project of the Year for 2007”

In 2008 Scott partnered SA Health to win the South Australian Change Management Project of the Year for 2008. He also again partnered with ACT Health to win the Community Service and or Development Project of the Year and the Community Benefit Project of the Year for 2008. That project went on to win the Australian Community Service and or Development Project of the Year for 2008.

All of these awards were won in very professional company against projects with big budgets and lots of staff. The projects were all planned in the same manner using the standard three-day course. This course has proven time and again that it has the right mix to ensure that project managers and project teams are given every assistance to help deliver great outcomes.
